Simeon Tsolakidis is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Primary Education, Frederick University. He teaches Modern Greek Language and Linguistics. He was educated in Greece and Germany. He has a Ph.D in Greek dialects, Aristotle Univeristy of Thessaloniki, Greece (2002). He was a post-doctoral student at University of Patras (2005-2007) and he is currently a member of the research team of the Modern Greek Dialects Research Lab, Department of Philology, University of Patras. . He was a scientific research assistant at the Institute of Modern Greek Studies, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (2002-2008), where he continues to participate (as an external contributor) in the program "A bibliogpraphy for the Greek language".

Tsolakidis is a member of the Cyprus Pedagogical Association, the Cyprus Scientific Teachers' Association for the Integration of ICT in Education and the Cyprus Scientific Association for the Integration of ICT in Education

Publications

Tsolakidis has published widely in the areas of Greek dialects and the teaching of Modern Greek language through ICT software. His research interests include bidialectism, its historical development and its impact on Cypriot society and the Greek-Cypriot educational system, the use of ICT in language and literacy education, and moprhosyntacic phenomena and etymology in Modern Greek dialects.
